Get to Know Jennifer

Jennifer Stone, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who works with children, adolescents, and adults. She believes that every person deserves care that is thoughtful, individualized, and grounded in a genuine understanding of who they are—not just the symptoms that brought them to treatment.

Jen's path to psychiatric nursing was shaped by both professional experience and personal conviction. When her own child faced significant mental health challenges, she found herself navigating the complexities of the mental health system firsthand—advocating for effective treatment, seeking answers, and learning how much compassionate, knowledgeable care can change the course of a person's life. That experience strengthened her commitment to becoming the kind of provider she wished her family had encountered. It also reinforced the importance of listening, asking thoughtful questions, and taking the time to understand each person's unique story before deciding together on the best path forward.

Jen earned her Associate of Science in Nursing from New Hampshire Community Technical College, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and her Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Psychiatric Mental Health from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Before becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, she worked in telemetry and emergency medicine, where she cared for patients with a wide range of acute medical and psychiatric concerns. Those experiences continue to shape her practice and reinforce the important connection between physical and mental health.

Jen treats a broad range of psychiatric conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, trauma-related disorders, bipolar disorder, and other complex mental health concerns. She enjoys helping patients connect the dots—understanding how physical health, life experiences, relationships, sleep, stress, and other factors can influence mental health. She provides medication management while incorporating psychoeducation, supportive therapy, and practical strategies to help patients better understand their mental health and make informed decisions about their care.

Jen has a special interest in perinatal mental health. She has completed advanced training through Postpartum Support International (PSI) and has experience caring for patients with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. She is currently working toward her Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C®) and continues to expand her knowledge in reproductive psychiatry.

Jen believes that the best care comes from building trust and working together. She hopes every patient leaves an appointment feeling heard, with a better understanding of what they're experiencing, and with a clear plan for what comes next.
