Individual Therapy (Ages 5 and Up)
Work through anxiety, trauma, depression, or life transitions at your own pace — in a safe space for people of all walks of life and beliefs
What Is Individual Therapy?
The goal: a space that is entirely yours. Individual therapy gives you a confidential hour with someone whose only agenda is your wellbeing. The goal is set by you — relief from a specific symptom, understanding a pattern, navigating a decision, or simply having somewhere to think out loud.
The idea: you are the expert on your own life. Your therapist brings clinical training and an outside perspective; you bring the knowledge of what your life actually contains. Useful therapy is the collaboration between those two, not a prescription handed down.
The method: goals, then the work to reach them. Early sessions establish what you want to be different. From there your therapist draws on the approaches that fit — skills-building, processing past experiences, or exploring the patterns underneath — and you review together whether it is working.

How Perspective Counseling Services Delivers Individual Therapy
Clients from age five through adulthood. Our clinicians work with children from five, pre-teens, adolescents, adults, and older adults, including neurodivergent clients. Younger children are typically seen with play and sand tray approaches rather than seated conversation.
Matched carefully — and referred out if we are not the fit. Fit matters more than any single technique, so we match you deliberately with a clinician whose specialties suit you. If nobody here is the right match, we will help you find someone outside our practice who is. Sessions run at both offices and by telehealth statewide.

Key Benefits of Individual Therapy

-
Entirely tailored to you. Pace, focus, and approach are set around your goals rather than a standard curriculum.
-
Confidential by design. What you say stays in the room, within the narrow legal limits your therapist will explain up front.
-
A safe space for every background. Our clinicians provide inclusive, identity-conscious care regardless of faith, identity, orientation, or background.
-
Self-awareness that transfers. Understanding your own patterns changes how you handle work, relationships, and stress well beyond the presenting issue.
-
A foundation for other work. Individual therapy pairs naturally with couples work, group sessions, breathwork, or medication management.
